Fashion Blogger Interview: Anna Brain from Oh my Blog!

Today our feautured blogger is Anna from Oh my Blog!

Hi Anna,  tell us a little bit about yourself (who you are/what you do/where you’re from, etc.).
My name is Anna Brain. I live in Moscow and for as long as I can remember I work as a socialite journalist. I actively travel and explore the world fashion industry. I write songs for popular Russian performers. I am shooting my own film project.

How would you define your style?
I cannot define my style in definite terms because it depends largely on my mood. The higher the spirits – higher the heels.

How did you find your sense of style?
When I was twelve I saw Sex and the City television series, the episode where they were showing Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe, a character played by Sarah Jessica Parker. Then and there I decided two things. First, I was going to have the closet just as big and second, my style will be just as exquisite.

What inspired you to start a style blog? What motivates you to keep blogging?
My numerous formspring readers insisted on me starting a fashion blog. I obliged them and have made a right decision. Now, I am motivated by a worldwide readership base to whom I can channel my sense of style.

How did you choose the name of your blog?
A group of friends and I sat for a brainstorm. In the process we came up with fifty possible names for the blog. The end result appealed to all for its perfect word play conveying not only the mood embedded in it, but also the variety of possible intonations with which it can be read.

What was the best comment you ever received from a reader?
Every comment is important. Its impossible to single out the best one because when a person takes their time to write even a few words, it is especially precious.

Who/what inspires you?
I am inspired by an occasional shuffle through my wardrobe. I discover things I have long forgot about and they give me ideas of new combinations I previously hadn’t thought of.

What are your favourite pieces in your wardrobe?
I love all my shoes.

What is your top fashion tip?
Do not be afraid to experiment with styles, colour and shape. If in doubt though, read “Oh my blog!”

What advice do you have for new bloggers or people considering starting a blog?
My advice to all bloggers is simple, be active. Update your blog as often as you can because in my opinion, this is a recipe for success.

What importance do social networks have for you?
I try not to depend o social networks too much and devote the free time to the offline world. Unfortunately, in the 21st century of high technology, it is not an easy task. 12. Your first thought in the morning? Oh my blog!

For you, what is the world’s most fashionable city?
It’s impossible to point one city out, but in my opinion the most fashionable youth is in Europe and Hong Kong.

How would you describe fashion in the city where you live?
Balance on the edge.

What message do you hope to send to your readers?
Shake that!

Fashion Blogger's Choice: Marilyn's Closet for Valery Lingerie

Marilyn's Closet Blog

Marianela is a wonderful fashion blogger from Canary Island, Spain. She studied Social Work because she feels really great when she can  help people. Fashion is her passion, her blog is Marilyn's Closet.

Today we talk with Marianela about self confidence, latest fashion's tip and the new F/W Collection by Valery Lingerie, let's start!

What's your fashion philosophy?
Be your self and wear what you want to wear, don't matter what people say/ Less is more.

What are three items you always keep in your purse?
Phone, lipstick and brush

What is your number one beauty secret for looking so amazing before a shoot or a fashion event?
The best secret is SLEEP! haha Sleep is the most important time to recuperated your self. So if you have a shooting or a fashion vent, try to sleep two hours more than you use to. But if you can't, a good eye illuminator and soft make up it's the best option.

What do you think is the best piece in the newest Valery Lingerie Collection?
I like the Calipso Triangle Bra and String.

Lingerie must be confortable or sexy?
Both. Now the lingerie is sexy and conformable at the same time, but if i had to chose, i prefer sexy! haha

Do you have any advice for girls who need a self-confidence boost?
Just be thankful, probably there're other people wishing what you have :P

Best advice you've ever gotten?
My mum always say me "Be thankful to God because you have everything , maybe you're not perfect, but you have two arms, two legs and you are healthy and there're other people who can't say that...I think is the best advice ever.

Where are you heading next and what can we expect to see in your future?
Actually, i don't know!! I0m in that phase right now :)

Fashion Blogger's Choice: Miss Marbles for Valery Lingerie

Missmarbles.net

Claudia from Miss Marbles was born in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) but she also got french and russian roots. Now She's studying Journalism in Barcelona and she's currently working as a freelance journalist and photography model.
Today we talk about self confidence, latest fashion's tip and the new F/W Collection by Valery Lingerie, let's start!

Hi Claudia, what's your fashion philosophy?

I do think that less is more, so I never wear a lot of complements, colors and prints at the same time. I don’t think you have to match everything just to show the world that you are stylish and fashionable. I always try to find the perfect balance between naturalness and style.

What are three items you always keep in your purse?

My iPod full of music and battery... I can’t go out of the house without listening to my favorite songs! Mascara and contact lenses are also indispensable to me ;)

What is your number one beauty secret for looking so amazing before a shoot or a fashion event?

I always try to get my hair done... The way my hairs looks is soooo important to me. The rest is simple: just relax, be natural and have fun!

What do you think is the best piece in the newest Valery Lingerie Collection?

I’m obsessed with lingerie, so it has been very difficult to choose only one piece, but I think this one is perfect.

I love the color (black is my favorite), the transparency details and how freakin’ hot and sexy it looks.

Lingerie must be comfortable or sexy?

Both would be perfect, but it really depends on the occasion. Sometimes you want to look sexy for your boyfriend and you don’t really care about the comfort, but for every day’s life you definetly should wear comfortable lingerie (that it doesn’t mean it has too look bad ;-))

Do you have any advice for girls who need a self-confidence boost?

Not really. I think the key is to learn to love yourself with your virtues and flaws and try to become a better person every day. It’s not about how beautiful your face and body is, it’s about how you are facing life. Optimistic, nice and happy people immediately look gorgeous to everyone’s eyes.

Best advice you've ever gotten?

Fight for what you want and don’t settle for less than you deserve.

Where are you heading next and what can we expect to see in your future?

I’m so lucky to be envolved in some great projects that hopefully will see the light very soon. My blog is growing up and I’m planning to show more to my readers through videos and new blog applications.

How would you describe fashion in the city where you live?

Brisbane is a unique city, trends are picked up very fast. Speaking for the age group 15-30; the two tone hair is huge and the round sunglasses dominate. Men are becoming very "Metro" as they like to call it. Wearing more feminine style clothes - low neck lines, tight jeans but maintain a sexy lean gruff look underneath. The girls love short dresses (In Summer) usually block coloured or floral with chunky heels. There is certainly a smaller yet obvious bohemian culture that are enjoying the platform sandals and long skirts that have floated to this side of the world. Goths are still around however, since crosses and skulls are so common these days, it's harder to tell the difference.
Finally the rebellious shaved head is becoming more popular, complimented by the sexy prints that dominate the beautiful curvacious women (iconic outback and cartoon images raining strong - pioneered by BlackMilk).
