WTF Vintage

Tell our readers how wtfvintage started

I have always sold vintage since i was 16 years when i worked for the company DNA who are now Motel Rocks . My ex boss William was a true inspiration to my look at work and vintage .He used to buy vintage along side Cult clothing which is now Super dry. The Cotswold's is the home to up and coming brands of which i hope WTF VINTAGE will follow, I set up WTF VINTAGE  over 2 years ago doing private parties and buying for private clients of which i then opened my first Boutique in Evesham Worcestershire and i have a boutique on ASOS which im very proud off , i have always loved vintage and now after 14 years of dealing with vintage i don't think i could do anything else !!!

WTF Vintage
What does vintage mean to you?

Vintage means everything to me its all i do and i think about !!!!  I love dealing in vintage and hunting for finds for clients and the boutique and maybe the a little find for me!! Vintage gives you the chance to have a piece of history and design and its very unlikely that you will be seen with the same outfit which if you are a party attender it is a great asset to have under ones belt ! I collect vintage my houses full of it !!

WTF Vintage

Can you remember the first vintage piece you ever owned?

My first vintage was brought from a shop in Whinchcombe called "just in" i was 15 and my mum brought it for me , it was a Frank Usher dress in perfect condition it was a Autumn colored dress with high neck and leaf pattern , i would love to find another one, i used to wear it with a body warmer and boots!!! i have always rocked my own look and have never cared for anyone's opinion .... i have always warn vintage.

WTF Vintage

What makes wtfvintage different from other vintage fashion shop?

We are non followers of fashion , i buy what i personally like for the boutique , i don't dress me or my staff in a typical vintage 1950s look which many boutiques do , my boutique houses a very large range of dresses , that's what i adore , I love the jewel colors that vintage gives compared to now a day shops, My boutique has a non vintage feel , its full of gold antique random framed pictures, the mannequins have latex animal heads, house music is playing and very over the top walls !!! i have made wallpaper out of vogue covers and write ups etc .... And its amazing how many people say when they walk in " wow it does smell like a vintage shop" , all my stock is handpicked and grade A it looks like new.It has a high end boutique feel.

WTF Vintage

What advice would you give them whilst purchasing a Vintage item or clothing?

You don't have to go for designer , Vintage was so well made compared to today's clothes so what ever piece you buy it will be off good quality . Buy what you like and be confident in the cut of the dress you have chosen. Many vintage boutiques wont do refunds so look at the dress carefully before buying .
